Other Ways to Give
Memorial and Tribute Gifts
If you would like your donation in memory or in honor of a loved one, please email Ashley Thompson, ashley@nlovca.org, the name of the individual and the name and address to whom you would like the acknowledgement card sent.
Matching Gifts
Many companies offer employees a matching gift benefit that doubles – and, in some cases, even triples your gift to NLOCF. Check with your company’s human resources department, and send in the proper forms when you make your gift.
Stock Gift
Your financial advisor can assist you in making a stock gift. Please alert us in advance about the stock and number of shares you plan to donate. NLOCF will then provide the instructions for electronic transfer, and you will receive a tax letter for the full market value of the stock.
IRA Distribution
To make a gift from your IRA, contact your IRA administrator and instruct them to make a distribution directly to NLOCF, PO Box 43826, Birmingham, Alabama 35243. Please ask your administrator to include your name and address when they transfer the funds so we can provide you with an acknowledgement for your records.
Donor-Advised Fund
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving vehicle administered by a qualified public charity. Think of it like a philanthropic savings account. After you establish a DAF, you can make contributions to the fund as often as you wish and receive an immediate charitable deduction. When you are ready, you can then recommend a grant to NLOCF.
Life Insurance
A gift of life insurance is an excellent way of making a substantial contribution. The simplest way to make a gift of life insurance is to name the Norma Livingston Ovarian Cancer Foundation as the beneficiary of the policy.
No information included on this page should be the final basis for a decision about gifting. An accountant or attorney should be consulted to determine how exactly the law applies to your situation.
Wills and Bequests
Provide now for a future gift to NLOCF by including a provision in your will or other estate plans.
If you have already left NLOCF in your will, or if you plan to do so, please let us know so we can show our appreciation and better plan for the future.
